The website

Websites and local SEO for tradesmen

I build trade websites with pages for your services and the towns you cover. Each local page needs its own copy and relevant work. I agree the launch pages with you before I start. Ongoing content work is included within your monthly allowance.

the office / SEO pages
The SEO coverage grid: every service against every town, showing which combinations have a published page

The gaps are the point

Every service against every town, and what's missing

Services down the side, towns across the top, and a tick where there's a real page. The blanks are the work still to do, which is a more useful thing to look at than a number in a report.

Take on a new town and it appears as a new column of blanks. Fill them when the work starts coming from there, or leave them.

A live area page on the client's own website, about their services in one named town

What the customer lands on

A page about that job, in that town, on your own website. Not a services page with a list of place names at the bottom.

Editing a service and location page in the office: the heading, the intro and the body copy

What sits behind it

The heading, the opening, the body and the questions people ask. Yours to change whenever you want, without ringing anybody.

The bit that takes the time

The pages are written, not generated

The system builds the address, the template, the markup and the links. It does not write a word of the copy. I do that, one page at a time, and it's most of what the build is.

Each page should answer a real customer question, with details about your services and relevant work. Changing the town name alone doesn't make a useful local page.

And the ones I haven't written

A service and town with no page of its own still works. It just gets the general copy, and it's told not to go in Google.

Pages without their own published copy stay out of the sitemap and the site's local page links. I focus on useful pages for the services and places agreed in your scope.

The rest of it

Your jobs, in your photos, on your website

Use your own job photos to show customers the work you do. With the full system, selected photos from job records can be used in website projects. I can also help prepare these within your monthly content allowance.

Recent work

The job, where it was and what it took, with the photos off the roof.

Where it goes up

Same system as the quotes. Write it, put the photos on, publish it.

The van and the leaflets

A QR code on the van, and you see what it wins

Where QR tracking is enabled, each code has artwork ready for the sign writer or the printer. One code per thing you print: the van, the cards, the leaflet drop. Somebody scans one, lands on your site and sends an enquiry. The enquiry records the source when they submit in the same browser session. A later visit or a different device may not be linked to that scan.

One code per thing you print

Scans, enquiries and jobs won, counted against each one.

the office / one code

Down to jobs actually won

Follow a recorded enquiry through to the job it becomes.

Your business, your way of working

You don’t need an office.
You don’t have to work alone.

01

Run it from your phone

Manage enquiries, customers, quotes, jobs and invoices in the app. You can have staff without having an office.

02

Give staff the access they need

Add the people who work with you. I set up roles and permissions around their jobs, including who can see or manage the money.

03

Use the office when it suits you

Work at a desk when you want more screen space. Office staff and app users share the same records, so changes stay together.

Same full system. Same price. No charge per user.

Two ways in, one system underneath

The system or the website.

The full system includes the app, office access, website and SEO. Choose the website option if that’s all you need now.

Both work for an owner on their own or a business with staff. I agree the setup before work starts. Larger migrations and custom work are quoted separately.
