The build
Laymac is a surfacing contractor in Horsham, and the furthest build from King's Lynn so far. It's website only, the same shape as Xcell. The site, the local pages behind it, and the hosting, domain, certificate and updates looked after. Nothing from the office side is switched on. It's there to turn on later, at what it would've cost up front.
Twelve services, seven surfacing and five groundworks. Tarmac, resin and block paving, surface dressing, road planings and stone tracks. Twenty-five area pages: the five counties, West Sussex, Surrey, East Sussex, Hampshire and Dorset, and twenty towns from Horsham and Chichester out to Winchester and Sherborne. Forty-eight of the service-and-town combinations are written. Thirty of those are county pages, six services in each county, and eighteen are town pages. The rest stay out of Google until they're written.
The front page leads on the family, not the company. The old firm was R. Butcher & Sons, road contractors, and the photographs of their lorries are the first thing you see. That's the one thing about this business nobody else can copy, so the home page was built around it. What the site doesn't say matters as much. No review strip, no logos, no founding date in the schema. None were supplied, so none were invented. Each goes on when it's real.
What was built
The parts this firm runs
- The website, with a page for each surfacing and groundworks service
- An area page for each of the five counties and every town covered
- The service-in-town pages started on the counties and the towns worth having first, with the rest written as they are wanted
- Ten advice pages that answer the questions people actually type, like why a farm track keeps getting potholes
- Hosting, the domain, the certificate, backups and the updates
