Fred manages EverCrest through the app. The enquiries, customers, quotes and invoices sit on his phone, alongside the diary. His website and local pages feed into the same system. He can run the business without sitting down in an office.

The site is roofing only, on purpose. Eleven services: nine of them roofing, two the insulation strip-outs. Fifteen towns, from Holbeach and Spalding where the firm is, through Boston, Sleaford and Grantham, out to Stamford, Lincoln and Peterborough. A hundred and twenty-three of the service-and-town combinations have a written page.

The quotes are the clearest example on any of these sites of a scope of works. A full roof replacement is written out once. Scaffolding and skip, strip the old roof, membrane and battens, through to sign-off by building control. It drops into every quote for one, with the price against it. The photos taken on the roof are saved against the job, and upload themselves when the signal comes back.
