The build

This is where all of it started. I spent nine months inside Prestige Roof as their developer. What I built wasn't a website so much as the way the firm works. The site brings the enquiries in. The office turns them into quotes and invoices. The app keeps the daily work available on the phone, for the people who need it. Everything I sell now is that build, made so another firm can run it.

It's also the biggest of the sites. Ten services, from new roofs and flat roofs through to spray foam and cavity wall removal. Forty towns and villages across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Two hundred and three of those service-and-town combinations have a page of their own, written for that job in that place. On the coverage grid the website page describes, this is the one filled in nearly to the edges.

What the office page walks through is what runs here. Enquiries arrive with their source on them. Quotes are priced off the firm's own price list. One diary, a column per person. Mark a job done and the invoice is drafted off the accepted quote. The lads have the app, and the photos they take on the roof go onto the website as recent work.

What was built

The parts this firm runs

  • The website, with a page for each service in each town covered
  • The office system: quotes, invoices, the diary and the customer list
  • The field app for the lads on the roof, for job sheets and photographs
  • The whole thing joined up, so an enquiry becomes a quote becomes a job
